Travertine mushroom lamp - stone base with alabaster or glass shade

Travertine Mushroom Lamp - a small stone sculpture that also gives off light

A round dome sits atop a short cylinder of natural travertine, the classic mushroom shape in honest materials. At just over 20 cm tall, the lamp fits on a bedside table, desk corner, or bookshelf without demanding attention.

Why this mushroom lamp?

The base is genuine travertine, with pores and color variations that make every lamp unique. Choose your shade: veined alabaster for stone on stone, or smooth glass for a lighter look.

• Travertine base: Natural stone with an open, porous structure and subtle tonal variations.
• Alabaster dome: Made from natural stone, with soft veining that shines through when switched on.
• Glass dome: The smooth version keeps the form simple and distributes the light evenly.
• Rotary switch: A small switch directly on the lamp, so there is no need to search along the cable.
• Small footprint: Approximately 18 to 19 cm in diameter, leaving room beside it for a book and a cup.

When switched off, it looks like a piece of worked stone; when switched on, like a quiet little lantern.

Place one lamp on each side of the bed, or use a single one as warm ambient light in your home workspace. Alabaster creates a dappled light reminiscent of candlelight, while glass distributes the light a little more evenly. Both versions pair well with wood, linen, and other natural materials.
