Between your foot and the shoe sole is a layer of high-density foam. The raised section beneath the middle of the foot fills the arch that runs there. The lining allows air to circulate, so the insoles won't feel clammy even after a long day.

The sole that comes standard in a shoe is usually a thin foam insert that flattens after a month. A thicker sole with a shaped center supports the foot along its entire length. It fits sneakers, boots, dress shoes, and work shoes.
The same shoes, just with a little more support underneath.
Remove the existing insole and place it on the new insole as a template. Cut along the line closest to your size, then slide the insole into the shoe heel first. Hand washing is recommended; let it dry flat afterward, not on a radiator.
Slip them into the shoes you wear most often.
