Hang the light approximately 70 to 80 cm above the tabletop so the light falls on the plates rather than into your eyes. A bulb with a warm light color works well above the dining table, while a brighter one is better above a worktop. Wipe the inside of the shade occasionally; this is where dust accumulates most quickly.
