Shade cloth - open weave that breaks the glare and lets air through

Open-weave shade cloth for greenhouses, pergolas, garden beds, and carports. The net takes the edge off the midday sun without creating a dark box underneath, while air continues to flow through. Sixteen sizes range from 2 x 2 m to 4 x 8 m.

Why choose shade cloth instead of a solid tarp?

A solid sheet traps warm air over everything underneath. The net does the opposite: it blocks the light and lets the heat rise. For seedlings, a greenhouse roof, or a hot patio, that is exactly the point.

• Open weave: Light is filtered while air continues to circulate.
• Folded-over edge band: the edge is folded and bound so it does not fray at the attachment points.
• Grommets at intervals: metal rings are positioned at the corners and along the sides for even tension.
• Sixteen sizes: narrow 2 m sheets for a garden bed up to 4 x 8 m for a carport or greenhouse roof.
• Folds small: packs down into a small volume, so one person can handle it alone.

Cooler underneath, brighter than under a tarp, and rolled up in a minute at the end of the season.

Thread cable ties or hooks through every second grommet rather than only through the corners, and the sheet will stay flat even in the wind. Over a greenhouse, it works best a few centimetres above the glass so warm air can escape through the gap. At the end of the season, shake it out and fold it dry.
